I've been following along in the IS-F forum, and MHP (Modern Horse Power) claims that he can provide ECU upgrades to provide better performance for our 3rd gen GS (including hybrids). In fact, he is in the process of providing a free ECU upgrade to an IS-F CL member here to prove that his tuning abilities are legit.
Anyone here interested in doing an ECU upgrade for their 3rd gen GS? This would be the first HP mod that I know about that doesn't involve custom turbo, supercharger, or NOS.

Edit: here's the link to the IS-F thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=393424
To bypass all the random talking and get to the cole notes version, please see post #129, 152, 154, and 159.

i read that thread on and off (not about the contend though, other matters). so when is the is-f ecu testing done? what's the estimated hp gain on the is-f? what does it control, throttle? timing? on other lexus i guess it's more of a ratio power increase, if anything? is it plug and play or need soldering?
i am sure a lot of people will want to know the answers to these too so might as well throw it out

but i will answer what i believe is correct (MHP to correct me if i'm wrong):
- it is a reflash of your ECU, based on MHP specifications. because you are using your own ECU, it is definitely plug and play (no soldering required)
- IS-F ECU testing will begin shortly. IS-F CL member is currently getting stock dyno # and track # as baseline. once that is done, his ECU will be shipped to MHP for ECU reflash. this will take up to 5-7 business days to complete the reflash?
- once completed, IS-F CL member to reinstall ECU, and do dyno and track comparisons.
- my guess is we'll know the final results of the IS-F test by end of Dec at the latest
- other questions needs to be answered by MHP

Members, I'm going to ask that we confine the MHP discussion to that one single thread until he becomes a Club Lexus approved vendor.

Thanks guys. We're looking forward to Juan posting his IS-F results next week and in the meantime will be more than glad to answer any questions you may have regarding tuning of the GS platforms. Yes, we can do them right now.
Thanks

I've read the IS-F guinea pig's comments (Juanca) after installing the retuned ECU. In short, shifts are smoother, and there IS a difference in power. How much gain, only a dyno will tell. He has stated that he needs better tires because he's losing traction!
It's starting to look really good folks, I think Passnu ? has already submitted to be the GS guinea pig?
