GS 300 Trunk will not open
I have a 2006 GS 300. The trunk will not open with the remote or the dash switch. The glove box switch is in the operate position and the fuse is good. Any suggestions?

jesus. lexus has a tsb on every mechanical component in this car.
every little motor seems to break- mirrors, windows, trunk, etc....
i gotta say, again, that the trunk motor is one of the dumbest things put into this car.
you can't even use anything more than 200x before it breaks. it's gonna be a big headache when the warranty expires. and I plan to drive this for at least 10 years.

Had the trunk stop opening on me. Release in the fold out panel didn't work. Try the key in your fob. There's a key hole under the lip next to the normal release button.

My suggestion would be to take it in and have the dealership fix it. That would **** me off. I hope you dont have anything of major importance in the trunk

that is unlikely. it will eventually fail..... based on all the 2006 models that have parts failing. Merely replacing the part will only lead to another failure several years later.
the trunk release in old cars works pretty much indefinitely. This "automatic" latch provides no other benefits
i do like the car otherwise.
btw... you guys who got the trunk latch replaced-
how much was the warranty work billed for on your invoice??

if i want a door closer, I want to be a lazy *** and not have to use my hands and arms at all.
with the lexus, you have to use extra effort to close everything lightly before the 'auto' mechanism kicks in.
