Default Tire Pressure

So this is probably a dumb question, but can someone tell me what tire pressure is optimal for my 245/35 R19's?

I can handle the heckling, just help me out. :-)

there is no "optimal". technically factory already has a spec for the tires, which is 32 or 33psi. that's what you should set it to

but in general, people recommend higher psi for larger rims with lower profile, mainly to help protect the rims themselves. on 245/35, personally i think 35 to 38psi max is a good number

on my super rubber band 20s, i go 40psi just in case

im always afraid of blowing out a tire above 37. not the best roads around here.

at what point does higher tire pressure increase the risk of blow outs? >40psi?

most tires have max pressure of 51psi or so. having it around 40 i don't think it will really increase the chance of blow outs. i mean, if there are nails or so, it will blow out your tire anyway no matter the pressure. if you are talking about blowout from heat, then 40psi is nothing

I use to have a set of 45s, the tire guy told me to keep it at 38 to 40 PSI.

wow thats pretty high. i usually keep my tires around 32-33 psi. maybe that could be the reason my low tire light always comes on lol

In all my tires on every vehicle,I run the maximum pressures as stated on the tire. This helps with fuel mileage also. If you drive in snow,I would lower pressures though.

max pressure stated on tire?!?!?! that sounds like a pretty bad idea.

thats pretty common and i think its a good idea so you dont have someone over fill the tire and cause a blow out. i know all my z rated tires usually say "max 45psi" on the sidewall

I was reading the Car & Drivers, it stated that if you add additional 5psi (max) to the tire, it would increase fuel effenicy.

Also our toy is head heavy (52:48 I think), my tire shop service advisor recommend adding 2 extra psi to the front to cancel out head heavyness!!!

If anyone is curous, I am running 39:37 psi on my toy.

If 2 PSI difference can cancel out a car being front heavy, then all those design engineers at Porsche are wasting their time trying to design a car with perfect weight distribution
