Default Trade in IS250 for GS350??

I'm in a debate of what to do.... I'll be graduating in May, BS in Comp. Engineering, and I was debating whether to trade in my current IS250 for the new GS as a gift to myself....... I'm 24 and I figured I could afford one because I wouldn't have any other 'major' financial responsibilities at my age. But i still want to remain practical and I can already see people pointing at me and saying , "oh this guy's spoiled" lol. What's your take guys..... you think it's worth the upgrade, or maybe the styling of this car is too mature for someone my age?? I'm lost....

Anything is better than a IS250, I am sorry to say the IS250 is a sorry excuse for a sport sedan, way under power. You only live once, go for your dream car, if you want to be practical, buy a Hyundai.

if i were you, i wouldn't care what people think of when i roll up in a GS350 as long as you know yourself that you paid for it with your own money that's all that matters. i was 23 when i got my GS back in june and i pay for everything myself, from insurance to gas to the payments. i don't care what the people at work say about it. as far as going with the GS car itself, i highly suggest you think long and hard about it. like i just posted in another thread, it was just the worst choice to pick as a car in terms of the rattle. may i suggest the M35? i don't know if your IS has rattles but it's almost a guarantee that getting the GS will get you rattles, sad to say but true. and since you mentioned maturity and this car, i've seen quite a few kids our age driving GS and other cars in its class here in so cal.

probably not what you want to hear, but I suggest you get yourself a place first, then worry about upgrading your car. Since you said you don't have any other "major financial responsibilities" I assume that means you don't own your own home. Save that money towards a down payment, in this economy you could end up with a great deal!

Then once you've got that, you can upgrade...for now, enjoy the sporty IS.

Excellent advice for the newly grad!!!

When I graduated from University, we purchased our first home (~5000sq/ft 5bed/4bath), then invested some more in condos. Personally I would stay in a condo instead of house, b/c the only living area we used really are the familyroom/kitchen/Master bedroom/and garage... rest of area are hardly used.
Now most of condos have been paidoff, so the $$$ I collect from the condos are for my toy/party fund!!!

Especially now is perfect time to invest in real estate!!!

+1 assuming you are now finished with post secondary education and now looking for work in your field of study, getting a stable full time job is more important than getting a new car, esp with the economic crisis that we are facing. if you are still gungho in getting a GS, get a 2nd hand instead. you'll save alot more money getting 2nd hand.
