Default Warranty Question (TPMS)

I just need some insight regarding the warranty specifically for the TPMS system. Lexus tells me that one of my sensors are bad, but it cant be covered under the warranty since I have aftermarket wheels. Only problem is that the car came with the wheels when I purchased it from Lexus about 2 months ago. So despite that they are aftermarket wheels shouldnt there be an exception for this since I purchased it that way. It is a CPO Lexus afterall, so the sensors shouldn't be going bad after only 2 months. So should I be entitled a warranty repair? If so, what should I do?

Unless the sensor came from that actual set of wheels that was purchased with the car, MAYBE. But then again, you would have then tampered with the TPMS system and they CAN void your warranty. Now if these were the originals from the stocks, I would either:

Remove them from the aftermarket wheels and reinstall them on to the stocks (bring it back and try to make them replace it via warranty)
Buy a new one and have them program/set it to the car

If you knew someone close that works with Lexus, sometimes they can bring it in (sensor itself) for warranty.

That's a tough one Maying...try calling 1800-25-LEXUS..maybe they will understand but as far as you having aftermarket wheels...that's really tough to argue.

CPO is a process that is done by the selling dealership. If they labeled and sold the car to you as a CPO with the aftermarket wheels on it and did not specify at the time of purchase that the wheels or TPMS will not be covered due to them being aftermarket then they should cover the sensors. You may even have grounds for a case in small claims (at least threaten them with that), but read every word in your CPO contract. It may be stated in very small print that non-Lexus aftermarket parts may not be covered.

On a cost savings measure, you can get exact replacement sensors from TireRack for a fraction of the cost that you would pay a Lexus dealership.

I misread the OPs. Disregard my statement or some of it.
