Default Who has Dynoed their 3gen GS?

Went to get a Dyno today and the car doesnt like to hold gear for nothing. Only mode I was able to get the car to hold was Snow Mode.

Just curious who has done this and what where your results? What did you do to get the car to hold gear

I have an 06 GS430...

Thank you

^ Only if I am in snow mode. 3rd and 4th will hold, 4th is what we should run in. But we could only get it to hold gear in snow mode??

It seems as if the 2gen GS you had to cut a wire to allow the car to hold gear?

i dunno.

if you keep stepping on the gas, won't you eventually get up to max rpm?

in normal or power mode the car wants to shift even if its in the manual mode. if its in Snow mode it will hold the gear the whole way. either something is wrong with my car and we did the dyno right or there is another way to do this?

I had an ISF owner with me and his car...they just wanted my car off and his on I must have been asked by everyone if they where putting the F on the Dyno

hoping someone has done this so I can compare.

Thank you

so i was just at the dealer and all is good with the car, no codes and A/f is perfect.

they are thinking its due to all the stability/trac/abs/ect....since the car sees the front tires are not moving.

I don't know anyone have any other ideas? didn't someone Dyno for an intake or even an exhaust?

Yeah, this was really odd. Didn't seem to matter what mode the car was in it would behave differently.

In manual mode it would start the pull OK, get to ~5000 RPM and then suddenly downshift with the revs shooting up. In auto mode it would want to downshift as described. Couldn't keep it from downshifting even when starting the pull around 3-3.5K. Finally snow mode seemed to work but the output seems "off" from what a 430 motor should put down. I was expecting close to what my old GS400 did stock (~235-240) but it didn't seem to match.

Have other successfully had one of these on the dyno? I've heard of some cars that would sense the fronts not moving or lack of airflow cause tons of issues with getting max power but I did not think the GS430 was one of those.

What about the "pedal dance" to fully disable trac and vsc?

I did a web search on lexus + vsc + dyno, and found that this may actually be what you need to do. One page even said this is referred to as "dyno mode"

1. Start the engine
2. Engage the parking brake
3. Depress and release the brake pedal twice
4. Disengage the parking brake
5. Depress and hold the brake pedal while engaging and releasing the parking brake twice
6. Release the brake pedal
7. Engage the parking brake
8. Depress and release the brake pedal twice
9. Disengage the parking brake

The Check VSC and Traction Control indicator lights come on when the systems are disabled (the steps are a pattern and you only need to continue until the lights come on). It resets when the car is subsequently restarted.

*snip details of "pedal dance"*
Good grief.

Well it's worth a shot.

The IS-F didn't hit the dyno that day. The results in the other thread are from another IS-F.

You gotta do what you gotta do. The Trac Off button only works up to 35 MPH on the 06.

I tried it for kicks, and it's really not as bad as it reads. It's a pretty quick "Press - tap - tap, switch, press - tap - tap, switch"

Oh BTW, it does have to be done in some short period of time from starting the car.
