last pic. I thought this was weird but i dont think its related. my friend unplugged and replugged in this little piggy back wire. it comes from the tape deck to the tape deck??

 

OK sooooo you cut the yellow wire and grounded the end that goes to the harness to a ground and the portion that goes into the deep wonders of the dash is left alone. That is right. I also see what looks like a blue wire which is cut...that in actuality is purple correct?? If so the other end of that wire should be connected to the pink wire as in this picture.....the upper wires are connected in this picture (ones that go to the deep section of the dash) not harness....

One more thing....in this pic, to the left you see a blue plug and harness, make sure that has not been loosened up...

pics are of 06...what year is your car?

 

mines is a very early build 2006. I am PRETTTTTY sure I spliced those two wires. PLUS, my navi hack works fine. but i will double check tonight.
After that I think I am fresh out of ideas.
Someone yelled at me in another thread saying it didnt matter what navi version you had and they are all the same. but I have navi version 4.1!!!!! Maybe that has something to do with it? I ordered my 8.1 a few days ago so maybe thatll fix it.

 

Its hard to tell from the pic but it looks like its different? Anyway to get a better pic and a brighter pic with more light? comparing it to the other pic it looks like the wire colors are different from where you cut the yellow wire??

I can help you tomorrow and pull mine out as I need to play around with my PNP kit anyway I can take pics also since I have 06. Its not the navi vs either. Its possible its the ground. did you put a connector on it? I grounded my radar wire to the side where the bolt goes in for the radio on the bottom and that worked for me. I put a connector on it and I can take a pic of that and location also. I am going to be working on installing things on the car tomorrow so PM me and I will help you, we can chat over the phone if that helps out also.

 

I fixed it!!! Thanks everyone that even looked at this post to see if they could help. big thanks to the people that commented.
the last picture I posted with the piggy back type harness was plugged in wrong. when i first tried to do this mod I had my friend help unplug all the harnesses while i held the radio so we can pull the radio all the way out.
When he unplugged that piggy back one he realized it could stay plugged in and we could still get the radio all the way out so he replugged it in right away.
unfortunately he plugged the blue side in wrong I guess.
Its the only plug that can go into two different spots. no idea why.
i havent taken it for a ride to recheck all the stock features working plus vaistech plus navi hack plus dvd hack, but i got the picture on the screen without the ebrake on so im guessing this is everything. if a mod wants to clean up and lock this thread they can.
