Hey everybody - just wanted to say whats up, ive been a occasional reader of the forums, great info, just wanted to say thx.

Bought my GS back Sept. 07, been loving the ride, but also would like it to look a bit sleeker like the 5series BMW. Wondering if I should throw some coilovers on there and keep the 18s, or keep the stock suspension and go up to 19s or 20s, or do both.

What do you think?

A dropped GS with the proper wheels imo looks "sleeker" than a 5 series. But the 5 series is sexy too, just not as sexy

Which stock wheels did you have? When I put on coils, the my stock wheels look pretty good with the lower stance (5 spokes chrome).

The main reason why I wanted coils was b/c I knew I was going to put 20's and I didn't want my ride quality to alter even more by only putting on springs.

All I can say is... it is a vicious cycle. Once, you start modding and you will feel like it will never end.

I have the stock 5 spoke star wheels. Which coilovers did you end up using? Seems like the consensus is either Teins or Tanabes.

I'm also thinking about getting some 20s in either
1. Trafficstar STM
2. Black Fleet Mutsu 620 or
3. Work Varianza Schwert SC1.

To my knowledge they are all cast - anything comparable thats available forged? Also thinking about Volks simply cause theyre forged and therefore stronger wheels.

Also what offset would provide best fitment would provide the cleanest look without any tucking or fender mods (for 20"s)

And lastly what brake system available do you think is best - if im not mistaken Brembo doesnt offer a brake kit for 3GS as of yet?

Thanks in advance! --

Will post pics once I take some - peace

I would vote to tasetfully drop the car and do the 20's. I think you might always look back, if you do 18 or 19's, and regret that you didnt go bigger
