here's a list of the maintenance schedule from lexus.com for the gs350.

30 day or 1k
insepct body/chassis
check for fluid leaks
road-test vehicle
program lexus personalized settings, if requested.

6 month or 5k

oil and filter change, reset reminder light
rotate tires
visual inspect brakes pads and rotors
road test car

additional maintenance required if you drive primarily under the following conditions:

driving on dirt roads or dusty roads:
inspect axle shaft bolts
insepct ball joints and dust covers
inspect engine air filter
insepct steering linkage and boots
tighten nuts and bolts on chassis

12month 10k:

oil and filter change, reset reminder
rotate tires
measure brake pads and rotors
replace air conditioner filter
inspect pads and rotors
road test car

plus the additional inspections as in the 5k if needed.

18month or 15k

oil and filter change, reminder reset
tire rotate
clean air conditioner filter
visual pads and rotors
road test car
inspect the following: axle shaft boots, ball joints dust cover, body, brake lines and hoses, engine coolant, exhaust pipes and mountings, front diff oil (gs350 AWD), rack and pinion assembly, rear diff, steering linkage and boots.

additional inspections if you drive in a dusty dirt area:

engine air filter
tighten nuts and bolts on chassis.

The guys said that I need to bring the car back for the 15k service at least. After that I can do the other services on my own.

from what i see on the list I can just give this check off list to a friend and I'm confident tthat it will be cheaper than $300-400. Cause all i see are visual inspections on there. Nothing major IMO. maybe the air conditioner filter. but i'm pretty sure the board can tell me how to do that myself.

Default AC filter

if you change the AC filter, make sure you follow the manual to the letter. don't force anything open like the AC door. If you break that, it will cost you a grand or so.

Yea, Tustin Lexus charge $450.00 for the 15k service. Supposely from what they say, it is the whole 9 yards. CHange air and cabin filter. Fuel injection service, etc.

I wonder why price differ so much between each Lexus dealers in So Cal.

From 30k and below, the services are just basically oil change, transmission fluid, brake fluid, air filter, ac filter, and tire rotation. You can do it at any auto service place. They are all easy to do and does not cost $200 for service. Look for DIY.

My 16,000 km or ? month service (although I have not reached that mileage yet) cost me $140 CAD with tax, so exactly $200 USD.

Regency...I wouldn't go to the Richmond one if my life depended on it (long story).

I wouldn't take it anywhere other than DIY or dealer to change oil. These other places they don't change the washer when they do the oil change. Also they tend to over tighten. Causing the oil pan to have a bad threadwear and leakage.
