GS350 Oil Change Procedure with Pictures

Quick question guys, will it void your warranty if you change your own oil? I have 07 RX350 with similar set up but afraid my warranty will void if I change myself. What if I order the oil and oil filter and keep the receipt. I've been changing oil for my other toyota for years.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have a question that I am not certain about. Does the 3gs have a maintenance reminder? My last Lexus did and I have had my car for ~ 8 mos now and I have put all of 2k miles on it. I show nothing on the oil and the car hasnt shown I am due. Does it come on every 5k miles like other Lexus models or do I not have that feature in my 06 GS430?
Figure some have had their car long enough that can chime in please.
Thank you!

On my GS430 if you click on "INFO" there is a "maintenance" section where you can set alarms/reminders for maintenance. I get the feeling not all dealers will input the dates/mileage as part of a service

^ yea mine has nothing in there. So its safe to assume the car doesn't tell you every 5k miles or so that its due for an oil change. This will be the first car that doesn't have some kind of service light or reminder.
My Lexus dealer sent me a FREE oil change in the mail but I think I would rather do it myself

Ok guys, here is the correct amount of oil (from the last page of my manual):
Model - Quarts With Filter Change/Quarts Without Filter Change
GS430 - 5.4/4.8
GS350 RWD - 6.6/6.2
GS350 AWD - 6.7/6.3
GS460 - ?
GS450h - 6.6/6.2
GS300 RWD - ?
GS300 AWD - ?
Someone else will have to provide the values for the GS460, GS450h, GS300 and GS300 AWD as my 2007 manual does not include those. I am sure that they would not be the same.

Also, I am not sure if the 350 doesn't have this feature, or you've left it out of the procedures a couple of important steps. On the bottom of the oil cartridge container, there's a small round metal cap that you can use the ratchet to open. After you unscrew this cap, you can push in this plastic spout that comes with the filter, and it'll drain 99% of the oil out of the oil filter. At this point, you can use the "F" type filter remover to remove the filter and drain the rest out. This helps eliminate the mess tremendously. The other thing is when you remove this small cap, you will see the small o-ring, and so you should replace that as well. Again, that may be exclusive to the 460.
BTW, I have switched to full synthetic, and re-programmed the computer to notify me in 7000 miles instead of the normal 5k. On my MB, the oil indicator doesn't go off until 13k, so 7k for 8.9 quarts of full synthetic should be no problem.

How did you "reprogram" the computer to change the mileage interval? Are you referring to the information display on the dash or the Navigation system? I know the dash warning is set to 5000 miles at the factory and dont think it is user changeable. Thanks.

It is changeable in the Info/Maintenance screen. There's a separate setting for oil, and oil filter. From there, you can enter in both the next change date and number of miles to remind again, and it will remind for which ever comes first. I set it to 3 months or 7k miles. I can take a pic of that if needed.

Okay gals and guys, I changed my oil today. GS 450h is no different than the 350 but I'm sure we all assumed that. I'll post some pics but Arantant really covered all the bases, kudos and thank you!!!
One thing I noticed is the OEM sway bars are much smaller than the 2GS. It seems to be less thick and its obviously a much shorter bar. I am certain beefier sways will help tremendously with handling, as with the 2GS.
Advance Auto had Royal Purple on sale for $6.99 a quart for full synthetic, a pretty good deal IMO, so I went with that.
Read in the owners manual how to reset the oil change reminder (DISP) screen. Turn the car off, put the DISP screen to blank (where Oil Change Req is showing). Press power button twice (don't turn it on) while holding the reset button in the drop down box.
It will say "Oil reset' or something like that. Hold for about 5 seconds and it goes off.
