Tires rubbing...front or rear??
I just installed the Tom's VP-S 19x8.5F and 19x9.5R +45 around with 245/35 and 275/30. I am running Tanabe Sustec Pro 5 coilover and now I am experiencing the rubbing issue. Here's my stupid question...how can I know its from the front or rear or both? I couldn't tell where it is coming from.

yeah, that's a surprise to me too. unless the offset is wrong...e39ng, did you look at your wheels and confirm that the offset is indeed +45? the offset should be stamped somewhere on the inside of the wheel

Yes...all 4 offset are +45 for sure. I don't think I set it very low. Here is the pic. Sorry for the crappy camera phone pics. The rear is still have like close to 1 finger space gap.

I dont know??
If I had to guess I would say its one of 2 spots, or well where I would look anyway...
check the blk trim piece on the rear fender panels and the tire to see if you can see any marks from it. I doubt its this but anything is possible.
next turn your rims all the way left & right and look at both sides of the liner when the are turned in each direction. If you are rubbing the liner you will see where. If thats the case its an easy fix with a heat gun and pushing it in.
please post back as I am curious now. I ordered rims and now I am doubting if they are going to work even when I trim the fenders :ugh:
Edit: does it seam like the drive side sits out farther then the passenger side rim? I just slapped on spacers (rears only) with the OEM rims as I had them sitting in the garage and wanted to see how it looked. Its dark and cold so I have to look at it again when its light out. If I was seeing clearly then this could be an issue...well I guess just check to be safe and rule it out.

i am very surprised too, those are very conservative offsets. only thing is 245 and 275 on 8.5 and 9.5, the tires are a bit more meaty on the wheel than say 9 and 10 inches wide wheels. but still with those offsets i don't expect rubbing
use the masking tape method to see where it is rubbing first and then see about solution

as rominl mentioned, use the masking tape first to see if there's rubbing. if there's no rubbing, you eliminate wheel offset as the problem. then the problem would have to be something else.
then the questions to ask would be: can you tell us something about your suspension? did you buy your coilovers brand new or used? did you check the shocks for any leaks? are you sure that the sound you hear is rubbing and perhaps not some other component of your suspension that is making noises? these are all remote possibilities, and need to be confirmed to rule out.
