you just need to order the part and drill a whole for it. I have one that I plan to use but I have XM and I find the trunk mounted one doesnt get good reception.
Get the part and take it to a body shop and they will do it for you "or" if you are not going to use it for XM then take the stuff off the back and get double sided tape and just attach it to your roof. Guess the later of the 2 will be easier since you dont plant to use it for XM. Not sure how hard it will be to break away the internals but its an option.

I just install mine. I have a 06 GS430 also. I purchase mine from Carson Toyota from Luis...if i was correct...i think i got it for $120 or so...my father-in-law has a body shop and he help me took the panels apart. I ran my black box which was in back trunk next to the middle brake light inside the car...window is tinted so people wouldnt even notice it inside. It's better than putting it outside on top the trunk like the dealer had it...looks really ugly that way. We had to take the rear seats out and rear panel to run the wires...than he drill a hole and touch up around the hole so it won't get rusted. He than put some kind of glue under the shark fin antennae so water wouldnt get inside...after that he use the nut that you will half to buy separtely from Lexus also and tighten up. It took us about an hour to do this...he had all the tools so taking the seats and panels apart was really quick. My reception for XM is great even tho it's inside the car. I still need to buy the another wire that run to the shark fin antennae.
Here is the number to Carson Lexus... Luis 310-522-2383

I used the VIN from an 07 GS for the parts department to look up the Shark Fin's part number. I own an 06 GS430 and they kept telling me the fin doesn't exist. Idiots.
Good luck, as I am doing this as soon as the part arrives. Good heads up on the nut, I didn't order that!

Guys...make sure measure another GS with the shark fin on it because if you don't..you will drill a hole that will meet the roof reinforcement bar. You will know what i mean once you open up the roof liner inside the car. Lucky we caught it before i drill a hole on the roof. You will not be able to screw the nut on if you drill a hole on top of that bar.

If you order the OEM shark fin antennae...you will half to drill a hole on the roof because on the bottom of the antennae...there's a little piece that sits in after you drill a hole so the antennae won't shift sideways...unless you cut that piece off. I still recommend to drill a hole ... actually two holes. One for the nut and the other is for that piece i was referring too. I think the antennae will hold a lot better than just using double side tape or glue...after a period of time...your antennae will be on the side of the highway somewhere if you don't install it the correct way...LOL

not necessarily. i'd probably opt for tape. 3m industrial double sided tape is the one to go. after sticking it on, you probably have to worry about taking it off than it flying off. that imho is better than dilling holes on the roof. tons of people have roof spoilers on their cars and i have yet to see one flying off if installed right
