Exclamation Will these offsets work for our car

I am looking at buying a set of 3 piece wheels from a buddy and wanted to know if the offsets were ok. They are hubcentric and will clear BBK, front 20*8.5 with a +38 offset, rears are 20*10 with a +40 offset. I beleive these should be ok, but just wanted to check. Car will be lowered on coilovers when wheels are installed.

it should be ok, just watch out the rear and what tire you use, it's close

you might need to shave the rear fender trim or roll the rear fender. rear offset (imho) is a bit on the low side - but i'm conservative by nature!

I know most opt for 245/30/20 in the front, but I wanted to use 235/35/20 in the front and use 275/30/20 in the rear. I figure that although 235/35 is a little taller, its also a little more narrow which should help. I'm guessing I would have to get my fenders rolled to prevent rubbing in the rear???

I am going to have a rough time with my rims then. I was told I could push more from the wheel mfg? oh well I guess one way to find out. If the rears are shaved I dont see you having any troubles and you are going to be pretty low on coils so that will also help out.

cant wait to see pics of your car

you also have to look at the width of the wheel. yes, 235 is narrower than 245, but you have 8.5 not 9 up front. so 235 won't stretch that much. basically the setup you have is the normal overspec setup for 20s.

depending on how low you go, the front prepare to rub at the top and also when you are doing hard lock turns. the rear, you might rub the outside. you can start by taking the black plastic trim off, if still rub, you should shave

do NOT roll, terrible idea. i have seen a lot of lexus with rolled fenders (including 3gs) and it doesn't look good. you can easily crease the fender. shave is a much better option

passnu2, what spec are you getting anyway? so many factors go into this

Looks like Ive been out of the rim/tire world for a minute. What ever happened to getting a pair of rims that fit without all the details, lol

Im not complaining cuz you have to pay to play, but offsets, tires, width, damn alot needs to be considered.

So then are there any other tire set-ups I can use to minimize rubbing. I hardly ever roll with more than 1 person, and I can live with a lil rubbing on hard turns.

Henry, what set-up are you running and did you have to shave your fenders?

i am actually at the stage of "ok" with fender mods. it's more work but the result is very rewarding. when i can gain another 1/4 inch of lip by pushing out the wheels, that's big gain imho

i am on 20x9+34 and 20x10+37, so i am more aggressive. but my tires are 245/30 and 265/30, stretching both front and rear. front width is not stretch, but the 30 profile makes it not as tall. my front tire is factory spec so i don't really rub much at the top and nothing front and back of wheel well. i only rub the front when i am turning and hit some bad dips or driving aggressively on offramps (bad idea)

the rear 265/30, i am a bit out of spec, , but since it's stretching quite a bit, it helps with the diameter. that helps on the rubbing too since the larger the tire, the more easily you rub the corner where bumper meets 1/4 panel. and on that i only rub when i hit big dips

i run toyo t1r, they are not meaty tires to begin with, so that helps. some other brands and i am sure i will have more problems.

the front fenders i modified the lining (flipped behind tabs) and bent them up as much as i can. the rear fenders are all shaved to the edge. i can go more aggressive both front and rear, but i am ok with the current look

as you can see so much go into fitting wheels. widths, size, offsets, tire brands/models, size, fenders, lowering, etc...
