Default Humming Noise

Hi Guys, first time posting here.
This is a great site, I've learned so much from reading the posts here, thank you very much!

Anyway, I have a question for everyone.

I recently purchased a 06 GS430, and I seem to have a problem.

When I hit about 45mph, and start cruising (let go of the gas and just roll), I get this weird repetitive humming noise. I took it to Lexus, and they advised that it might be the bearing, so I changed it, but the sound is still there.

Any ideas what this could possibly be?

Thank you very much

Does the repetition vary in speed or pitch with speed? If so, could be the tires.

Did the previous owner have aftermarket wires for speakers/subs?

Yea, it changes with speed and gets louder and the repetitivenesschanges as well. But the thing is, it only starts making the noises around 40 to 50 mph. Anything slower or faster than that, and the noise is gone.

Could that be something to do with the tires?

And no, the prior owner had no after market sound system.

sounds like you have uneven tire wear...take to discount tire and have them check out.

hmmm, well, I hope it is. That would be a simple problem, but the car has brand new tires, although the front two and the back two are different. I did have them rotate the tires though, cause that was my first thing that came to my mind as well. I guess I'll try taking it to another tire shop and see what they say.

Thank you

I have the same issue... I believe it is the tires and maybe and alignment issue.. I bought new tires a few months ago and now the noise came back.. It is sooo annoying it sounds like a small airplane taking off right ?
