Default Cracked passenger side mirror

I've got a nasty crack in the glass on the passenger side mirror. Anyone know how I could go about replacing and how much it will run me?

Bozer
i dont think they sell just the mirror, it comes as an expensive assembly, look at ebay for a mirror assembly, you can disassemble the glass part and install it, ebay mirror assemblies are quite economical....I checked since I took mine apart recently and was checking out my backup options, search for the DIY side mirror LED thread and youll see how to take off the mirror, you can do it without taking the whole thing off the car...

they don't sell just the cover? that'd be bad

if you can't find it cheap, imho maybe time to just get the aftermarket turn signal ones

Yeah if it costs about the same for the aftermarket ones, I'd just get them. Link to those?

I was just thinking the same thing...its the mirror and that should be able to be replaced. I cant believe there is no replacement for that. It pops out pretty easy and I am sure many of there and not the rest get damaged.

oh hahhaa, ooops, my bad. somehow i just kept on thinking it's the cover that's cracked @_@ if that's the case, then there are aftermarket stuff

but if it's the mirror glass itself, then tough luck

Its horribly cracked but also I have a big white mark on the outside probably from some tard opening their door into my car in a parking lot.

I pretty much need to replace the whole thing I think. So if its not much more for the aftermarket with turn signals I guess I could do that too.

the turn signals are just a shell for the outer part so you can do that for less money then OEM or if you want I have my covers. The mirror you should be able to find somewhere to replace it. It does come off and I cant believe they only sell the whole mirror assembly. If that is truly the case find a wrecked GS and go take it and give them 50$ for it. Nigel is selling these mirror covers.

isn't there a part number on the backside of the mirror glass?
maybe you could order it.

i once had that mirror replaced on my old car. i went to a glass shop to have it custom cut.

you cant make a custom one unless you want to lose your defrost and dimming functions.....you need to take it to the dealer and get your self a new one or find one on ebay in your color and take it off and put it on....putting on a new shell is not for the beginner DIYer.....changing the mirror assembly itself is a medium DIYer....

Dude... you must be on CRACK when you were reading/writing the thread!!! Just kidding...

Best bet would be getting it from eBay like all CL members have mentioned, best of luck.
