Noise issue is a big one to me, and I don't feel like having dashboard removed to fix it, so that justifies my decision not to buy lexus again, or at least for another 3-4 years. Also, I do not like the way lexus handles, but that's my personal opinion... I had to modify suspension to improve it, and get better look at the same time. I think I was spoiled with my previous car...

I am there right now. The lease on my GS300 is up in a couple of months and I am up in the air as to what to get. I would like an S5, but with the Real Estate being a little shaky I need to get something a little less expensive. Right now my favorite is the G37. I just miss that sporty feel that I can't get in my slow GS. I think I will extend my lease for the full 6 months and see what the deals look like as the new models come out.

Maybe the G37 suspension and ride is tighter than the GS?

The G35 was a decent enough looking car, but goddamn they were (and are) ubiquitous, at least around where I live. I also cannot *stand* the exhaust note of Infiniti/Nissan's recent cars. I don't know if it's all of them, or just certain models, but I've noticed it on the 350z, G35, and FX. Hate it with deep passion.
But yeah, style-wise, I thought the G37 just murdered (in a bad way) the simple but elegant good looks of the G35.

The G37 has a "sportier" feel to it. When I drove it I definitely felt more in touch with the road.

Personally, I would never own the same car twice, especially back to back, no matter how nice it is.

I have never owned back to back styled cars....but have been close.
If my needs remained the same and the car went through a generation change (with supposed improvements)...I cant see why it would not be a very serious contender...assuming I liked it before and dealer treated me well....and they didnt jack the price up.
