Default alignment?

I notice my car drift alittle to the right so i wanted to wait till i get some new tires. After putting some new tires on this weekend...i notice it drift alot to the right now. So i decided to take to Firestone because they have Lifetime balance for $140...after taking it there...the tech came back and said...you don't need an alignment because it's not off...i was confuse so i told him to test drive it and he did...he said it pulls to the right...i said YES IT DOES...he told me the alignment computer shows the spec is correct so don't worry about it. i guess ill take to a different place...Firestone charge me $25 for putting on the machine...I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN...need help ???

It could be a tire pull, not an uncommon problem. If you have directional tires, try swapping rear-to-front and see if it still pulls. If your tires are not directional, swap left-to-right and see what happens. If the pull disappears after a swap, then it's a tire pull. It can be fixed by re-mounting the tires left-to-right.

Brand new tires can have a tire pull right out of the box, happened to me a couple of times before.

just got back from Lexus dealer & alignment wasn't off...they told me i should bring car back to Discount tire and have them rotate front to back and see what happen...basically rotate them or dismount the tires and mount them back and forth till it won't pull anymore...this is taking so much of my time...

arnieosp, i have directional tires. The dealer told me i can't put directional tires on GS...they will create alot of this problem...is that true? I bought a set of Falken Azenis ST115 and they feel great with low noise. I didn't have time today to bring it back to Discount tire but i already spoke with the manager over there and he assure me to bring it in and he'll try to solve the problem from me. The Lexus dealer wrote a note to Discount tire saying it's the tires that are causing the pull.

What happen if they take the rear and put to the front and it still pull? What do i do than?

My 2006 GS430 pulls slightly to the right on freeway driving, and this is after having the alignment done a week ago by the dealer.

I found this service bulletin online:

Technical Service Bulletins for the LEXUS GS430 2006 - 010000 STEERING
Make : LEXUS Model : GS430 Year : 2006
Service Bulletin Number: 00401
Replacement Service Bulletin Number: 00401
NHTSA Campaign ID Number : 10017720
Date of Bulletin: 12/21/2001 Date Added to Database: 11/21/2005
Component: 010000 STEERING
Summary: REPAIR MANUAL SUPPLEMENT - VEHICLE PULLING TO ONE SIDE. ALL LEXUS 2002 - 2006 MODELS. *TT ALL 02 - 07 MODELS. LEXUS. *TT

I am going to take my car back to dealer to get this done; hopefully, it will correct the problem.

Will you please keep me updated on this bulletin when you bring to the dealer...i assume this won't be under warranty? What is a manual supplement?

The easiest way to fix it is to re-mount the left tire to the right rim and the right tire to the left rim. Tires can "pull", but they can not "push". It happened to me couple of times in the past and the tire shop was always able to fix it by just re-mounting them.

But I would try switching the back-to-front first, to make sure it stops pulling after the swap.
