You should make your GS a race car

exhaust mods ( especially with no headers or catalytic coverters delete) is a joke. Its kind of like when we were kids and used to put cards in the spokes of our bikes to make the bike sound louder and cooler.

That is too funny when you have a Tanabe Exhaust on your car (Per your sig) So you are bashing others for what you have done to your car Then why did you install and aftermarket exhaust. What is even better is I am getting a FULL exhaust for what you paid for the Axle back on your car

Great Project! If you can, please post a before and after photo of the underside of your car while at the shop.

Some here may recognize me. I know a little about exhaust mods and the S&S headers

It is interesting to see an attempt at a custom exhaust. That said hopefully you will keep all your stock pipes intact just in case you want to re-install some or all of them. Modifying exhaust is like tuning an instrument. The result may be pleasing but it also may not.

On the 2nd gen GS4xx cars I recommend the stock Y pipe when installing the S&S headers. This is not to say that a better pipe cannot be made but rather that the stock pipe, even the GS430 with a cat in the Y, performs very nicely, fits correctly and costs nothing.

I have not seen a 3rd gen system. If someone has some detailed pictures that would be great. My guess is it is very similar, maybe identical to the 2nd gen.

The S&S headers will physically bolt to the engine. I do not know what changes are made to the engine compartment and downpipe area between the 2nd gen and 3rd gen cars. Does ANYONE have any pictures of the stock exhaust manifolds? Does ANYONE have access to the Lexus part numbering system? If so please check the part numbers for the 2nd gen manifolds and the 3rd gen. Long shot but possibly the same. If so the S&S would be a bolt in.

Is there any interest in headers for their 3rd gen 430?

^ I checked and they are different. The GS is more similar to the 2gen IS. I did a lot of research on this. Will find out in about a month how the car likes it or doesnt like it.
