Hi everyone -
I am purchasing a Lexus in the next week or so - what model depends on a few things. Originally, I was looking at the GS 450h. I contacted the local dealership in Bakersfield (the only one around for 100 miles - ugh!) who assigned to me a "specialist." I told him I wanted the GS 450h, and he then proceeded to tell me how hard they are to find, and that Lexus was discontinuing them because they were not as popular as Lexus had anticipated. He *almost* had me talked into a GS 350 (which is still a beautiful car), to the point he's trying to have one delivered to the local dealership in the next couple of days - and then I saw a picture of the front end of the GS 450h (which I hadn't really looked at before)...now there's NO way I can with the GS 350 - I have to have the GS 450h.
So my questions are these - are GS 450h's really *that* difficult to find? And is Lexus discontinuing them? My thinking is that maybe there aren't any around here locally (so to speak) that he can get his hands on, and he's afraid I might go down to L.A. or Orange County and buy from one of the many, many dealerships down there, so he's telling me a few, shall we say, tall tales.
Thanks in advance for any help.

yeah i wonder what "difference" did you see. the only visual difference is the emblem in the front, where the 450h has the emblem with blue hue
450h is rarer compared to 350 (obviously) but i would never say it's hard to find. if you are willing to drive farther way to either norcal or socal, i am pretty sure there are tons of selections for you
if you want i can refer you to my sales at glendale and see what he can get you (and a lot of times he can even deliver the car to you!)

mollie:
welcome to cl. great choice in the 450h, you won't be disappointed. if you can't find a 450h through rominl's contact, try doing a special order through your dealer. it will take longer, but the wait is well worth it. good luck!
