Default What Brake Pads should I get?

Hey, I was looking for suggestions about what kind of brake pads I should get next for my car. My pads are worn out. I don't need anything crazy because I don't track my car or anything, but I do want something that is better than OEM of course.

Thanks!

although it is a little pricy, i recommend endless brake pads (the dustless ones). i've had very good experience with them in my old car. when it's time to change my front pads, i will be switching to endless.

what about axxis brake pads, or hawk? will those mess up my rotors?

hawk pads are also very good, probably a lot more cheaper than endless. i have no experience with axxis so i can't comment on that. both endless and hawk are ok to use with stock rotors, don't worry.

if you go with hawk pads, go with hawk hps:
http://www.hawkperformance.com/performance/hps.php

if you go with endless pads, go with endless super street m-sport:
http://endlessusa.com/product.php?c=brakepad&p=1

hope this info helps. good luck!

Thanks that did help a lot. My friend told me about akebono eur ceramic brake pads. He said they were good on OEM rotors. Thanks for all the help. I'll post up how they work after I install them.

x2 on Endless dustless. They really are dustless (I had them on my old car)!

haha! not entirely dustless, but extremely low dust. i could go a few months and not wash my wheels...great time saver if you don't have time to wash your car every week! which is one reason i am biased towards endless!

Wow, the endless are sounding pretty good, I'm going to test out the akebono and see how I like them. I got them for $102 for the front and rears at placeforbrakes.com

I put Akebono's on my car, and they have been great. Zero dust / noise.

I believe Akebono also makes the Toyota/Lexus OEM pads.

I recommend Posi-Quiet, had them for a month and never heard any noise. Good bracking and almost no dust. I’m quite happy with Akebonos on my 98 but my mechanic told me that third generation GS is too heavy for ceramics.

All decent aftermarket pads (Hawk, Akebonos) have to meet or exceed OE standards.

Just curious - how many miles did y'all have when you needed to replace your brakes?
Thanks

My car was not on original pads already when I bought it at 25k miles . When I changed pads at 30k, the rear rotors were out of spec. If you use the car how it was designed to be driven, spirited, aggressive driving (“Punisher” stile, see the van behind you smoking, etc LOL), you are looking at 25k tops. So the story that my Toyota went 90k on original brakes does not apply to us anymore.

Such an elegant car should stop beautifully and it is worth the $ at every 25k.
