Thumbs up New 06 Gs300 Owner.. Questions...

Hello all

First let me tell you I have been on this site for 10 minutes and fixed a few things that bugged me (seat belt buzzer being #1). This site is AWESOME.

I do have a few questions though after not finding the posts on the forum already.

1. I have an IPhone 3G, on the bluetooth it says i have to "transfer my phone book" I dont think IPhone has this feature is there any other way to put contacts in? (manual does not explain)

2. Like I said i just bought this car "used" of course. The tires they have on it are 225/50/17 Nexen tires (never heard of) are these tires horrible or something. Because i hear a WHOLE LOT of road noise. (what is a good tire for the money if these are horrible tires)

Thank you and I look forward to all of your input you are willing to give up.

1) i don't know about iphone in particular, but overall i think the "transfer phone book" feature on lexus is pretty lame. i don't know of a lot of phones that can do that job successfully...

2) no idea on the tires

welcome to CL!

nexen tires can be pretty crappy, they must be very affordable tires....I had a set that was super loud, nexen 5000s i think they were, anyways, lots of good tires out there, check the tire and suspension section of the forum

Cool Thank you for your input

I went to a local Goodyear shop today and the Service Manager said its 100%the Nexen tires make the road noise. He was explaining that its was very loud for 2 simple facts
1. Cheap horrible tires.
2. He said the tread pattern has big gaps in the design, thats why it sounds almost like a 4x4.

Only thing driving me crazy since i spend most the day in my car on the phone is the phonebook deal. I don't understand why you can't manual put in contacts.

Thank you all for your input so far.

Congrats on the 300, as far as the phone book transfer goes I have no idea for the iPhone, its worked for my LG Prada and Samsung Omnia. For your tires, yea, they are crap. If you want some nice tires with a quality stock ride then get a size 245/45/18 or 245/40/18. Anything from Falkens to some Goodyears will do you fine

Cool Tire Size..

Just a quick question on tire size. I have 17" rims not 18" rims. Should i stay with 225/50/17?

Thank You.

Have an iPhone 3G myself. You would need another BT phone to transfer in. I used my old Moto KRZR to get it in.
