Noise coming from driver's door.

Noise coming from driver's door.
I have developed what seems to be an odd noise coming from the driver's side door.
When I go over large bumps, manhole covers, railroad tracks, significant objects, the driver's door makes a noise like it is partly open/not quite closed.
The door is shut all the way and the windor is all the way up. I can't produce the noise by shaking the door in the driveway or trying to move the window by hand. I am taking it in so service can see if anything is loose inside.
Just wondering.

I get this too, I cant even figure out where it is from, it is as if the door literally tweaks open and shuts (as if the body flexes) when going over a massive pothole you knew you should have swirved over....weird, it is so rare that I never even mentioned it to the dealer, they wont ever figure it out

I had that problem too, when I go over rough road, I can hear a ticking or tapping noise inside or maybe under the door and on top of the door, almost like metal hitting metal. Some owners thinks that it the GS's chassis not being stiff enough.

I will post more after they look at it.

update:
Monday night I really cleaned the black rubber gasket that the window seals against and then coated it a heavy application of silcone. The gasket appeared to be very dirty and had some high spots. They came off with cleaning and the silicone made the rubber a little more supple and smoother. This reduced the noise by about 95%. I took it to the dealer today and the service guy looked at it with me and he determined that the window and door were not loose but he did comment that the gasket was "dryer" than he liked even after the silicone application. They said they had no problem replacing the gasket with a new one at no charge. We shall see what that does.

I have the same issue. I think I have isolated it to the bottom of the rear right door. I will mention it at the next visit. It almost seems like I have a loose door panel

I have been starting to feel the same way. I feel like the car has more rattles than my dropped G35. I have console squeaks, dash rattles, and door vibrations. I had a friend with a benz c class who had to have the dash removed in his car twice before they nailed a vibration

As nice as the new C class is, the interior is still cheap compare to a E class or S class of course. My 08 GS develope rattles at about 2,000 miles and by the time I was at 5,000 miles, it has develope 4 or 5 rattles in diff places. It had been in the dealer 4 times for rattles and they had it for about 2 weeks total. My old TL was infamous for rattle, but it didnt start rattling until like 20,000 miles, the TL's rattle I can understand, the car cost $20,000 less and I can accept the interior quality lacking a bit. The GS on the other hand, is almost the same price as the 5 series, A6 and the E-class. The interior built quality on the GS is far behind those 3 vehicles.
