Default Comparison 06 vs 07

I was wondering if anyone out there could help me make a decision between two GS models. I am looking at purchasing a CPO, either a 06 or 07, GS300 or GS350 respectively. I have read many articles, forums, and consumer guides in an effort to assist me with making the best decision.

I am coming to all of you since you have been through all of the noises in the dash, seatbelt area, brakes, etc. I would greatly appreciate any feedback and info.

Welcome to CL first of all......The 06 and 07 there are some difference between. Obviously the engine on being 3.0 and one is 3.5 after drive both engine there is a huge difference IMO. And the navigation system is a bit difference as well, and you do get a bigger break caliper the the front with the 350. And you also have the shark antenna on the roof with the 350. If you are looking to get a CPO I will say go with the GS350 it is a faster car and some minor upgrade as well. Hope these information helped.

Go with the 07... I love my 06 but if I had to do it again, I would pick the 07 mainly b/c of the reasons listed by kyang91. When I bought my 06, it was about 6k less expensive than the 07 (I specifically wanted blk on blk with Navi and ML), I got a really good deal on the 06 so I couldn't resist. Either way, I am satisfied

I would say if you can afford the 07, do it.

Welcome to Clublexus. The GS 300 was introduced initially so the GS 350 would "refresh" the lineup with a new engine. The 3.5 engine offers basically the same fuel economy with over a 60 hp jump (but it feels more like a 100hp jump and the performance figures agree with that). The 3.5 is a beast of an engine and an award winning engine.

As kyang91 stated, you also get bigger (and better looking) brakes, 4 piston vs 2 piston on the 300. The 300 has 17" wheels and most all 350s have 18" wheels.

You also get the updated gen 5 NAV vs gen 4 in the 2006. The gen 5 is updated with better resolution and its quicker.

Build quality is about equal I would mostly tip my hat to a newer model as they tend to fix problems from an earlier year.

IMO, the 350 is well worth the wait/money over the 300. The 300 is NOT a bad car at all, its perfectly good all around. I find the 350 extends on the 300s capabilities.

This might sound funny, but my wife hates the dash lights on the 300. Loves the blue on the newer models. She loves the Blue...

Have a ls430. but now the wife wants one of her own... Not a fan of the green.

The 58 hp difference is enough power to represent a supercharger at moderate boost being added to the GS300. 245 hp is a joke for a car of this size.
