washing the gs engine.
when i was at the dealership 2 weeks ago i seen one of the workers there washing the engine of the car while its on idle. he was spraying soap on it and then with the hose washing it out. i asked him what kinda soap they use and he said he didn't know because they get it in big amounts. does anyone know what soap is close to what they might use that is good to was the engine with ?

Seafoam is used to clean the crap inside of your engine. I wouldnt recommended though on our cars. A good way to clean the inside of your engine is to first make sure that the engine is warm, and not hot. I would the turn the engine off as well, having it idle kinda seems scary to me. Furthermore make sure that all sensitive parts inside your engine bay are covered. ie electronic compenents, air filter (if u have an aftermarket intake) etc. Then just wash and rinse. When finished turn the car on and let it idle for about 5-10 to minutes so it dries. If you want extra bling factor in your engine bay spray WD-40 on all of the metal compenents so theyre nice and shiny, plus it protects them.

last time I had my car in for service I saw that te engine bay was dirty. when I got it home I popped the hood to check if they actually cleaned under the hood, and they did. Lexus is awesome. My service quality is stellar

In the old days, I used to start the car up and spary the engine down with de-greaser and go at it with a graden hose. That was before the days of modern electronics in cars. I would not trust those guys at the dealer to spary water into my engine. They have no idea where the sensitive areas are. If you want it done right, hire a guy to steam clean it or just wipe it down by hand.
