Weird, the quote I got from M1 was $500+ for the spoiler. Replicas cost that much ?

They prolly quoted you an authentic one? But I doubt that, since they are notorious for selling knock-offs. Or maybe they are just ripping you off

you should ask them if that price is for original or replica. then call up carson toyota or other reputable vendor to find out what original would cost. then you can make up your own mind on where to order.

sorry if i was unclear. they sell BOTH knock offs and replicas. at least that's what they claim. i am actually surprised by that, coz' if i am authentic distributor i will definitely refuse to sell to them.

and as consumers, i would question how do i make sure whether it's authentic or not.

I think the only difference between an authentic spoiler and a replica is the packaging? Dont think they'll go as far as start printing WALD labels. I just dont see any other way to distinguish one from the other, its just a piece of plastic...

I would stay away from having te spiler painted before you recieve it. You will want to take it to a shop that will directly color match to your car. Also if there is aproblem you will be able to tae it back and have them do again. Its a bit harder through the mail. Its small amounts of money that can be saved. Do it the right way, through a reputable vendor and all will work out

+1 always get it painted by a shop locally so you can control the paint match. if you buy the spoiler already painted, you really can't go back to the vendor and say it don't match.
