Will a full size spare fit in the trunk?
Hello,
I just bought a 06 GS300. I love the car! I want to put a a full size spare in the trunk. The car currently has the 18X8 GS 430 wheels. Where can I pick one up for a decent price. Local Lexus dealer wants $550.
Thanks

^ thats what I thought. Wonder what the reason for them killing this on the GS? Is it a huge cost savings to have a Donut vs Full size spare? I know to go buy one it will cost more but from a volume/mfg standpoint I would think the full size is right there. BBK came in so I will install in the next week and try the spare to see how it fits or doesnt fit.

Think about it, it saves Lexus at least $1000 per vehicle by using donut instead of full size spare (at least in retail price)!!! At the dealership they sell an 18" rim for $800 plus Michelin Primacy HP is another $450; which is about $1250 for a full size spare vs. $100~$200 for a donut size spare!!!

I may be wrong since I am adjusted to the size of the 450h trunk but I think size is another issue. In my car, their really isn't any unused height or depth dimension. Whereas in the RX, there is loads of extra space under there so they could put in a full size. I wish the GS had a full size, but at least i have the crappy runflats so I won't have to use it.

It's probably more because the car comes with runflats.
