GS vs 5 vs E

hal9000...great to see you love your car. Unfortunately with the dash rattles, loyalty to the GS will wane unless it gets fixed.
Today I would lean towards another GS after this one...assuming my needs remain the same in 9 years....so I hope they fix this. Only chance this would change is if BMW significantly improves its reliability and changes its interior design.

well, 4 days into my ownership, one of the trunk latches stoppers broke.
all windows develop on and off rattling within a month of ownership. and now constantly battling with upper and lower dash rattle.
it's ok though, i didn't get this car for quality but when i get back in the lexus i do feel in a better built car, lol

I'm a honda hardcore, but recently honda made all wrong decisions, first V-10nsx(totally anti-honda glad it cancelled), no v8 for RL and need to make RL fatter legend-like, killed legend,integras,crx,prelude,s2k, put turbo in cross vehicle instead, fail to make AWD turbo(new tsX should be), turn civic to girlie car(that model F1 driver), new Acura grille(newtl should be rwd),too expesive MDX, the list went on, WTF! are they trying to do? that's why i'm driving 6-inline RWd fat gs300 now.

my point is, all cars have their pros and cons. lexus is no exception, same for bmw, audi, or lambo. dollar value doesn't mean anything, everyone expects more anyway. i can also say for 90k i would expect more than cloth roof lining in the s class.
gs has rattle issues, but imho good power and good front seats. m3 has their own issues, but it's freaking fast. it's good to aim for a perfect car, but it's almost silly to expect a perfect car

No way! not German engineering, can't remember, seen it somewhere, after they fetch an audi out of the lake, let the water ran out and it started right up!
