hal9000...great to see you love your car. Unfortunately with the dash rattles, loyalty to the GS will wane unless it gets fixed.

Today I would lean towards another GS after this one...assuming my needs remain the same in 9 years....so I hope they fix this. Only chance this would change is if BMW significantly improves its reliability and changes its interior design.

don't discourage hal9000! dash rattles can be fixed, and it is a minor inconvenience when compared to the problems hal9000 had with his mb.

Rominl, only BMW owners can be ok with broken trunk, rattles in dash and lose window panes in a 4 day old car. I guess you guys are truely a special breed.

The M in M3 must stand for malfunction I would expect more from a $60000 car.

so does that make a $50,000 lexus more acceptable if it only has rattles and squeaks?

when those who pay 300k for lambo are done with their complaints on chrome peeling off their shift ****, i will start mine

my point is, all cars have their pros and cons. lexus is no exception, same for bmw, audi, or lambo. dollar value doesn't mean anything, everyone expects more anyway. i can also say for 90k i would expect more than cloth roof lining in the s class.

gs has rattle issues, but imho good power and good front seats. m3 has their own issues, but it's freaking fast. it's good to aim for a perfect car, but it's almost silly to expect a perfect car

A friend of mine switched to IS after having nightmares with his 3 series coupe. There were mostly electrical type of problems. Like the car would not start lol or the sunroof would not close..

No way! not German engineering, can't remember, seen it somewhere, after they fetch an audi out of the lake, let the water ran out and it started right up!
