Default New member, quick DVD hack question, and a gift!

I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed to the DVD hack portion of the sticky at the top. I worked on this last night, and got everything done, but something isn't right.

I have a 2007 GS350 with Levinson and nav. I cut the purple wire and the white wire with the silver dots. I connected the harness side of the purple wire to the nav side of the white wire with silver dots. I also grounded the yellow wire.

So, the DVD's will play, and I never have to have the e-brake depressed, but if I start moving, the picture turns off and it goes to the map. If I stop, it goes right back to the movie. What did I do wrong?

Oh and btw, I installed the Toyota/Lexus iPod adaptor. Works well, a little quirky but otherwise a-okay. I heard people saying it was discontinued. It's not. Oh btw I'm a Toyota parts guy. Speaking of which, here are a couple of diagrams that may be helpful to people working on the nav. I have a full schematic of the electrical wiring diagram but it's in a weird format. I'll have to see what I can do to convert it.

The ends that connected are the parts that are deep in the dash....not the parts going to the radio at all....

Thank you so much for the pic! So both the wires are cut and the two on the radio side are left disconnected and the two on the harness side are connected together with a switch in the middle. That sound about right?

And cohare, yes, I could definitely supply those, I just don't want to step on anybody's toes in terms of sponsorship or anything like that. Quite a few parts crossover though.....

Double post kinda. D'oh!

I didn't notice till yesterday, but my navi is kinda choppy and I don't get turn-by-turn directions. So I got none of the functionality of the navi with none of the functionality of the DVD player. Neat lol

Thank you for all your help!

I could, no problem. I just don't want to step on anyone's toes, you know? For what it's worth, I see 1,551 in various depots across the country so I don't think they're going to be discontinued anytime soon lol

The P/N is PT545-00082.

It will! I just installed that one in mine. They say you can't install it with the satellite radio. Technically you can......I did......it played over the satellite radio and you couldn't control anything lol. You'll have to disconnect the satellite hookups in the trunk if you have sat installed.
