Its wear'n'tear after a reasonable lifespan of the product. When I got my hid fogs and was driving around with headlights on for a week, I noticed one of my low beams was dimmer and than shutting down. I'm sure I had it before, just didn't pay attention until I got my hid fogs that I was checking in the bumper reflection at every stop My '07 3GS is 2.5 years old, and these low beam bulbs should have a lifespan of approx 2500 hours. I took it to my dealership, they were able to recreate the problem, and replaced it for free under warranty.

Actually the headlight housing did not really melted, but I think due to the hot glass pieces, it melted through the chrome area. But there are major smoked damage on the housing, top and side of the housing are orange/yellowish and cloudly. Actually if you do not look closely, you will not notice it.
Sorry, it was not part of LPS... but in the owner's manual it stated that we do have the right to turn-off the DRL.
