Exclamation BBK Experts

Okay so I had them installed as many are aware. I was just informed the caliper is on the wrong side of the car. The box indicated to have them on the other side (opposite they are installed) however the mounting bracket I guess wouldnt allow it so they installed them as they could?? I have never done this to a car in the past since I usually leas so I am in the dark. I have installed new rotors and pads but never replaced the calipers out.

Is it possible that Rotora placed the brackets on backwards? Can they be moved to the other caliper?? How can I tell what the hold up is or what needs to be done. The rotors where flipped and Tommy (installer) has been great to get everything worked out I might add

I just want to make sure before I go back to his shop. If Rotora mounted them wrong or sent the wrong stuff I want to make sure Tommy and his shop are credited and not at a loss for some thing they didnt do wrong.

Thank you

Thanks to Javy for catching this

javy hit the points i was going to make already. tell them to try flip the brackets left and right too and see what's up. maybe you can be there to see how the fitting was too

in most cases, the brake shield has to be cut in order to fit the brackets / calipers. i had to cut them on all my cars with bbk.

are you saying that the brackets are mounted on the calipers already when you got them from rotora? that's new to me, all my previous bbk, when i got them the brackets are separated from the calipers.

when my shop did the install, they cut the shield (partly), put on the rotor, put on the bracket, then slide in the caliper. everything should fit at that point.

if you are there in person and can't get it to fit the right way, then maybe rotora sent you something wrong?

You're welcome Mike - glad to hear you're getting this resolved. BTW, you didn't by chance take a picture of the contents as you were unpackaging them, did you? I'm curious to see how Rotora ships their BBK's (especially in regards to the brackets).

Sorry I didn't Javy but I can tell you the brackets where mounted to answer that question. Good thing the shop has been awesome regardless of who made the mistake. At least its a quick fix to flip them over and bleed the lines again.

what info are you looking for exactly, mike? what about the dust shield?

if the calipers don't fit with the dust shield, you can either cut out the whole shield, or you cut partial until things fit. since you have 2gs, you might need to cut the whole shield so the rotor can fit on correct without touching anything
