4300 HID Xenondepot Conversion kit installation - Reputable places in Orange County
Anyone know any reputable places in Socal (perferably around Irvine) to get this installed in a Lexus GS430 (4300k xenondepot kit)? I bought the one with the relays (to the battery). I figure the one I got is better (made in Japan).
Secondary questions:
1.) What's a good place to install the ballasts? I'd like it to be out of the way of water, etc....
2.) I'm wondering about the heat distribution, I know the HID's will run at a higher luminescence but since the fog lights are made for xenon, will they warp someway because of the HID?
3.) Anyone have any good/bad issues with this particular kit? I went with 4300k because it matches OEM stock bulbs....
P.S. I'm a new member, hopefully one day I'll upload pics of my car. I'm so embarassed because my car is super stock! First big upgrade will be the F-Sport sways and Tein CST coilovers

-my ballasts are zip tied on the bottom of bumper
-so far i had no probs with water or warping
-4300k might be the closest match imo, but still a bit whiter than stock..

Hi,
HID bulbs do not burn significantly hotter than halogen bulbs as they only operate on 35W. HID bulbs do give out more UV than a halogen bulb which can potentially damage the housing if the HID bulbs in your kit do not use anti-uv quartz glass. Our HID bulbs are double layered and use anti-uv quartz glass so you can safely install them in your housing without fear of damage.

I can never under stand why the hell people buy 4000K hid they look gross and are a waste of money to get the same look as factory ....you should have at least bought 6000K bulbs... and dont pay for install hids take no more then 1 hour of your time to install if you have zero practice there simple plug and play

But here's the main reason: 4300k gets you the MOST USABLE OUTPUT ON THE ROAD. Your run of the mill 8000k HID bulb scarcely puts out more output than a halogen bulb. Your eyes are just more sensitive to blue, so you think that it might be brighter, but I assure you it is not. In addition, this increased sensitivity causes more eyestrain for both the driver and other drivers on the road.
Having ran 6000K bulbs, I will never regret going back to 4300K. The max I would go is 5000K or so, which some OEM bulbs have

I'm sorry. I just have to interject here. Many people like the stock 4300k look (like me). Not everyone wants super blue bulbs that may sometimes attract negative attention, and I think color temperatures like 8000k+ belong only on old maximas and civics.

Oh, I meant in terms of bulbs that you can buy from OEM bulb manufacturers. For example, Philips makes (or used to make) the Ultinon bulbs, which were rated at about 6000K, and it offers several CM (Color match) varieties like the 85126 CM and 85122 CM I believe, which are about 5000k. These CM bulbs are meant to literally "color match" the slightly higher color temperature of an aged bulb. Though not available from the factory like that, you can still obtain them =)
