Greg a few things. This has been discussed 100 times, please SEARCH.
The 06 GS 300 had 20 more hp than the 07, was 30% more efficient yet faster. So from the previous 05 GS 300, it was a big step.
Secondly, Lexus stated publicly they want to keep things "fresh" in a lineup and not use the same engine for over a decade so they can stay more competitive with the Germans.
Third while people seemingly obsess over power on the internet, the vast majority of luxury buyers don't. For instance the 525 that was sold in 2006 had around 200hp with a higher MSRP.
Unfortunately for the GS, the competition all debuted near 300hp V-6s when the GS 430 had 300hp with a V-8. So the GS was behind on power out the gates. The updates in 2007 gave the GS 350 class leading power/efficiency but it was too late, all the initial reviews were done and the GS 300 was seen as ho-hum.

^^ i dont completely agree. so instead of trying to look for information on your own, you would rather be lazy and spoon fed the info? you'd rather post and wait possibly hours and hours for someone to answer your question that you could of had an answer to in 10 mins if you werent lazy?

i can understand that but a lot of people dont like the search button because they dont understand how to search. if your very general with your questions you can find your answers. ie would be "can IS350 brakes fit on my 07 GS350". instead just type in "IS350 brakes". sure you'll have to surf thru some threads but you'll find your answer. i think its better than waiting hours for someone to answer your question, especially if your looking for an answer right away.

As was mentioned, the search option isn't all that great for some reason. And yes it might be faster to post a new thread and wait because it is still faster than doing a search. I asked once about brakes and was told to check out the maintainance or brakes section, guess what, none replied for 3 days. I posted here and booom. It hapens everytime. These new posts can be refreshing to some of us who forgot about it and as well as beneficial to new people on the CL. I am not lazy, but unless the search gives me wha I want it is useless. I type for example brake rotors on GS300 and I get wheels on IS250,how is that even relevant? I typed once HID light with and without using GS300, you know what I ended up with? HALLOWEEN..... I am serious.

Why you guys trippin....you know the search feature sucks. I've tried it and mostly it's the pits.
Those of us who don't mind answering will continue to do so.
Those who do mind shouldn't even say a word. Just move on.

Guys the search function is fine. My advice, go to the "Advanced" settings. Then highlight the specific forum, for instance here, third gen GS. Only threads here will be fine.

Use a good keyword, "changes" would be good here.

We are very very VERY kind here. On other forums, you might get banned, you will get blasted my members and ignored. When I am researching say a M5 or something, I don't just start new threads. I take my time and read and read and read and search over and over and over (its NOT going to pop up in your face). When I finally can't find something, I ask politely.

Not calling the OP out here but it took me 45 seconds to find 3 threads on debadging.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...lem-maker.html
I went to advanced search,
highlighted the 3GS forum,
typed in "emblems"
and went under "titles"

so it only searches in this forum, the word emblem, in the title.

Now he has pics of a debaged GS and how it was done.

45 seconds.

Am I overly passionate about Lexus? Yes. Have I been here since the begining of time? Yes. Its not about that. Just take some time to work a little hard and surely you will find it.

I never EVER want people to be afraid to post or ask questions. All I ask is put in some decent effort in searching/researching/reading sometimes.
