could very easily be done. 4080 enclosures already makes a box for the drivers side for a 12. id recommend running a nice 12 in there with a big amp and run a nice set of door speakers. with just one side, you can still fit a set of clubs in the trunk.

With the 4080 enclosure, you won't get the most boom of ur woofer though.

Here's my dilema, I wanted to install an aftermarket stereo SYSTEM into my 06 GS3 but the A/C is tied into the the stock radio... Anyone know how to bypass this?
And I'm not looking to leave the stock stereo on because I want to be able to connect my hdd to the stereo and play my music there. And I know there's aftermarket units that you can interface with the stock radio to play USB drives but they aren't as convienent as an after market stereo that I know will work for sure. Thanks in advance!

I think we've got the wrong car for replacing the stereo system on. It's just too integrated into so many things (climate, bluetooth, park assist, etc.).

Where there's a will there's a way!! I saw this other 3GS member on here who got an aftermarket flip out screen stereo in his car. I PM him recently and hopefully he replies with good news of how he did it.
For now I'm thinking of cutting the one connector needed for the A/C to work (on the stock radio) and running it to the trunk area where I can store the stock radio and still have my aftermarket one installed up front.

Wow! So you plan on pulling over to adjust your a/c when it gets hot?

Oh no, what I'm saying is the wire that needs to be plugged in to the stock radio in order for the A/C to work will be ran to the back of the car along with the stock radio, the A/C controls up front will still work. The monitor and stock radio are two seperate units, they can be taken apart once the monitor & radio are pulled out.
How hard would it have been for Lexus to leave all the A/C components behind the monitor and not have to integrate it to the radio :S

Default For those adding subs...

For those of you adding subwoofers, a couple questions:
1. How did you get signal into the amplifier for the new sub:
----A. Did you convert the existing sub's (speaker-level) signal using a line-level converter?
----B. Did you somehow get access to a line-level output from the Lexus head unit?
----C. Did you use some other technique?

2. In either case, does having a ML vs. "premium" system make a difference?

Thanks!
