Default have you built your own..

has anyone built there own intake or custom exhaust. i have been thinking I want build one of each intake wont be that hard and will give me the same gains as the k&n would but instead of having that cheap plastic heat shield i would have a stainless steel one i figure with all parts and K&N filter about 100$.

for the exhaust i wanna to 3inch all the back to a 3 inch y splitter then 3 inch straight pipe to another 3 inch y pipe which will go to 2 borla mufflers. Im not 100% firm on the mufflers yet but i want some think thats quite/nice at driving speed but when i floor it i wanna hear it roar I figure depending on muffler cost about 700-900$ for a full exhaust from headers back.

i've made a "custom" intake for a truck, swapped it from a 330ci to a chevy silverado.. not really sure if it worked, but it sounds decent. had to bend the ***** outa the heatshield but it took alot of time
