Naw, that's not true. I believe you were kidding but I'll explain anyway. I like lot's of other guys rides. Many more I enjoy looking at. I just have my own ideas about what I like and what is right vs wrong.

I grew up in the muscle car era. The guys I looked up to had Chevy Nova's and Camaro's, Mustang's and Super Bee's. They would put these giant tires on the back, some racing slicks...with much smaller wheels up front, some drag tires. We had Saturday morning races every weekend, all year long.
Cars like this, it was cool to have the wheels sticking so far out side the body. The body was chopped, cut, bondo'd...whatever was necessary to make it go fast and look cool.

I had a 95 SC. It was cherry. But since it was an older car I had no problem rolling the fenders to make the wide rear tires fit with a 2 inch drop. It's still a luxury car but it was a coupe and it was getting older so more is acceptable to achieve that muscular look. I'll never do it again though because it caused paint cracking. Cutting the inside lip off could reduce structural integrety so i would only allow a trained body shop tech to do something like that.

A newer GS is another thing in my book. It's a classy car and not a muscle car.
In addition, I don't believe that any car that is a daily driver, regardless of it's age or design, should be modified to the point of possible safety risk. Nor should it be modified to a point of discomfort for it daily purposes. I've seen cars on super stretched tires makes turns and the rim is scraping the road. That's a safety issue. And it's a waste of money cause now that wheel will need refurbishing and the tires will wear out quickly.
I've seen our members modify their car, adding power but doing it with shortcuts that lead to unsafe situations. Blowing engines and transmissions that could default in the middle of high-speed driving...endangering others. If nothing else they have to spend thousands fixing them over and over again.

Look, I have my own way of looking at things. Some of makes sense to some people, some of it doesn't. I could care less. Like I said, I'm not hating on anyone. I'm just stating my opinions just like everyone else is doing.

I defintely enjoy looking at extremely modified cars though. Show cars. well put together and done properly. Like Terry's cars. He spends the money to make everything right. No issues to cause problems. His SC has extreme fitment on the wheels. The engine has been modified from the inside out, not the outside in. Less chance it will blow. His paint is flawless. His tranny has been modded to match the power. Everything is right. No shortcuts. None! It can be driven everyday (I believe). At least that's what he said the last time i asked him.

None of this makes any difference though. Do your thing. Everyone....do your thing. I can say what I want but do your thing! It's all good!

I might have different views on some other things with Regg/Ice but I agree with everything he said here.

I am also not a fan of the stretch tires...

Go with coils so you can do a real drop and fine tweak it so that the driver side doesn t sit a 1/2 inch lower than the otherside of the car

Default Help with Fitiment.......

I have an 06 GS 300 awd. I am looking at some HRE wheel on here from the classifieds, and I need help. The specs are HRE 540 R 20x9.5 +41 with 255x30x20 front and 20x10.5 +41 with 285x25x20 tires. WILL THESE WORK on my GS????? I love the wheels. I am planning on running Tein coilovers for suspension.

The rims will definitely work, the tires on the front are a little wide, if anything they may rub on the inner wheel well cause of the wider rim/tire combo with a high offset.
