Guys

I bought a set of wheels that were 20x8.5 +35 and it does not clear the front caliper. I think I need at least a 15mm to clear it. I'll be running 225/35s. Should I buy the spacer and hope that it doesn't rub or will I need extensive fender mods? I'm willing to shave if I have to but I really don't want to start pulling the fender.

Hey Here is my 3GS with 20 x 8.5 all around MRR HR3 Silver.
Only Problem im facing is that my tires in the front rub the fender walls and i have not even lowered the car but i hope this helps.

Looks good, Heat gun the fender liner and mold it back or cut it out or eventually it will rub a hole on its own

Thanks man yeah i have a problem there i cant cut it because im leasing the car but i may try to use a heat gun and mold it a bit and see if that helps. Thank you for the recommendation on using the heat gun to mold it.

1SLOGS, thanks for the pictures. It does help. It looks really nice, but the rubbing was a concern for me too. How do you like the wheel quality?

lilandagi, The Wheel Quality is excellent i love the wheels the rubbing is a small issue that "Silver10" suggested me which is using the heat gun to mold it a bit and hopefully that helps.

Hello All,

I just went through the ringer putting rims on my GS460. Bought a set, they didn't clear the front calipers (mind you the website had a 100% fitment guarantee), had to send them back, etc... I was advised to try a set made by Lumarai, which is a TSW spin off that makes rims specifically for Lexus.

Sidebar: if you're buying rims online, you want to go through James Del Verde at Carid.com. The site and it's administration get a 6 or 7 out of 10, but James makes up the difference.

20x8.5 front and 20x10 back. 245/35/20s on the front and 285/30/20 on the back. Perfect fit. No rubbing and I didn't do any suspension mods.

Mind mr asking who was the manufacturer? I'm having the same issue now with the fronts not fitting

The manufacturer of the rim that didn't fit was Dcenti (DW39). However, it's important to note that my follow up showed that most rims aren't going to fit. Very few do, and most of them are posted on this thread. That's also why you'll see a bit of repetition - there just aren't that many rims that fit the GS's offset. You either get one of the few rims that are made for the car, or you pay a ton for custom built 3-piece rims. And if you do that, most of them won't have much of a dish, because the front calipers won't all for it, and they try to build all four rims to the same specs. It's insane. I've never had this much trouble putting a set of rims on a vehicle.

What has been done to this car? lowered? If so by what? Wheel and Tire specs? Any rubbing issues??

So I ended up getting SSR LM-9's. I really like the look of these wheels, they also fit well too. Thanks for everyones help and advice. I also thought I'd share some pictures if anyone is looking to go this way as well.
