I am pretty sure that Lexus designed a system that will add noise but will still remain a Lexus . The HKS system will most likely be tuned for more resonance

At the end of the day its an intake, whether its from Lexus, HKS, or Ebay. The key would be the filter and your personal tastes. I like both, but if you want OEM, then go F-Sport.

Was designed and sold well before the F-Sport or HKS versions...

all of you have great opinions. Without anyone that actually OWNS AND USES the F-sport and HKS Intake setup...I would have assume that both the HKS and F-sport are very much similar in design. Unless anyone can say any different.

Bottom line all of you are right. All in ALL it is just a pipe whether polished, or any color / material ...it still goes to a STOCK airbox w/ your CHOICE of a drop in stock-type Air element. Whether you choose to use K&N. - HKS or any other brand type mesh filter.

I was maybe thinking there was a difference in the airbox design in F-sport or HKS which allows more airflow. Wishfull thinking on my part.

It is just a tube and your choice of stock type air element.

Am I wrong.....? hehe

I am currently running the HKS and I love it. Noticable difference in performance and sound. Go for it !

since the FSport doesnt get you the full air box I say just get a tube from anywhere or get one made. You can have a shop MFG one also. You have options. I personally wouldnt spend a lot on it. I tried a custom 3.5" pipe with a filer and the car didnt like it due to the extra air. You can custom tune the car and I had planned on it but decided to go another direction with the car. If you want to do it right and get the gains from it do a custom 3.5" pipe and get an apexi neo and enjoy the sound and performance

Clarify this. F-sport DOES NOT include airbox? I thought it did? Or is that just ONLY for IS- ?

nope...its just the top part and the tube.... better to just get a tube made or find one for cheap. You can cut a hole in the OEM box to have something similar.

If you want to get crazy then do the custom pipe like I mentioned. The sound is amazing
