Auto-latching Trunk: Does this "feature" suck?
Although I'm completely happy and capable of closing my trunk without needing auto latch, I'm a little frustrated that the feature completely sucks (at least on my car).
When closing trunk, there are 4 possibilities:
1. Close the trunk hard enough to completely latch.
2. Close it lightly (latches, but not completely) and auto latch kicks in to completely close it.
3. Close it a little lighter (latches, but not completely) but not enough for auto latch to kick in.
4. Close is so lightly that it doesnt even partially latch (wuss!)
The problem:
It seems like achieving option 2 (auto latch) takes too damn much effort.... almost a finesse. When attempting to achieve 2, I get 1 or 3. So I just always slam it shut.
Does everyone's behave like this? Is there an adjustment? Does anyone care?

all you have to do is to get in the habit of closing ur trunk lightly and when it's sitting on top of the latch, just push it down gently to engage.. one of my fav features
i hate people slamming my trunk, it cracked my custom trunk before from other careless passengers..

i love this feature, but as Henry said......the LS equipped full trunk closing function would be a plus!
(add that to the loooooong list of other reasons why i want an LS. )

i'm always worried that doing #1 will break the latch system, as I think it's made of the same fragile plastic that our mirrors use for their mechanics.
I also avoid touching the paint at all cost, so if #2 doesn't happen as it should, I either begin again, or if I happen to be holding a towel, lightly press down on the spoiler with the towel.

Based on your responses, I went out and messed with it again for about 20 times and it was behaving flawlessly... auto latch every time. When I'm closing it "for real", I hadn't been getting that much success. What the hell is wrong with me!!!!!!
Thanks for convincing me it's operator error
