Default TOO many different opinions on oil change

Hey you guys, this is Laura again. Got a message about my oil change required and the little red triangle as well. I know many recommend this filter and that type of oil but many do not recommend the dealer. I am not doing my oil change at a dealer for sure. So what about express oil and those places, are those Ok? Anything I need to tell them? How much does it usually cost? 2006 GS300 AWD.

I guess what am asking is I don't want to go buy them and do it my self. I wanna take it somewhere, so is Express oil Ok to take it to?

probably not.. i doubt they have the filter in stock.. we don't use a conventional oil filter.. we swap out the filter inside the housing. if you are trying to save few bucks, go to toyota dealer instead of lexus.

just take it to the lexus dealer and all svc records are in the system, might boost some values when selling the car

and it's available on lexus.com for reference and u get a nice loaner to drive for a day, not bad

i would never trust oil change at places like jiffy lube myself. 3rd party mechanics that i trust is where i'd go, otherwise dealership

I do mine myself. If I didn't like rominl I would take to someone you trust or just pay extra for the dealer. I use Mobile 1 synthetic for all my cars.

When you mean dealership, I guessing you are talking about Lexus. I've been taking my car to Toyota for oil changes when I don't feel like doing it myself. I would call your local Toyota first to verify if they perform work on Lexus vehicles.

DO NOT take it so some rinky dink $9.99 oil change place they are notorious for ripping off customers.
If you have a guy friend it will take 20 minutes to do yourself. THe Lexus filter is only $6 and you can buy the oil yourself.

If not, just buy your own oil and bring to Lexus.

material is maybe 26$ dollars at most for the DIY....and less for the dealer since they buy in volume.

you can buy any oil you want and bring it to them to put in your car. I would also buy a oem filter and bring it also since its no a well used style filter.

Just got it done at Toyota dealer. $34.99, can't beat it. They are fast too. Lexus wants $129. They can kiss my behind.
