Laser detector issues?

^^ It actually does if your glass is tinted. It slows the light going through. I didnt believe it myself until I did some research.
off the V1 site direct:
HOW WINDSHIELDS CHOP LASER DETECTION RANGE...what's left after passing through the windshield, arranged from best to worst.
HOW DO-IT-YOURSELF GLASS TINTING FILMS CUT LASER RANGE...what's left after passing through the sample.
Clear glass, no tint 75%
Axius, 35% VLT on clear glass 53%
Axius, 20% VLT on clear glass 40%
Gila HPB046, 40% Smoke on clear glass 45%
Gila HPB044, 20% Limo Black on clear glass 50%

^there is nothing metal that is blocking the laser where its mounted. The only thing that is reducing the radar where mounted is the glass (front/rear) if the window(s) are tinted. Nothing else will effect where its mounted. V1 actually suggests to mount up as high as you can
You are correct that V1 suggested us to mount it as high as possible...BUT, w/o being blocked by a foreign object. The foreign object in this case being the roof. Our cars are designed so that the roof curves steeply towards the back. Just stand out on the side of your car, and draw an imaginary line from where he's mounting his radar straight out back. You'll see that the back of the roof is in the way. For this reason, I mounted mine a couple of inches lower. It was annoying at first since it's more in my field of vision.
But, to each is own, mount it where it best for you.

^ I see your point (didnt mean anything negative in my reply if I came across that way). I still dont think it will cause any issues. I had mine pretty much where you have yours now. Now mine is actually in that plastic part where the rear view mirror and sunglasses holder is and I haven't seen one change and that is higher then probably anyone has on here. I think the most important is the front view for Laser. When I did my custom install and took pics they said that there would be no issues where I mounted mine? I am by no means the radar expert here I could be wrong but I dont think the rear of our roof line will effect
