Default Laser detector issues?

Anyone had problems with a radar/laser detector in a 3GS when mounted up near the rear view mirror? I mounted my V1 there last week and it was great initially, but I eventually started picking up frequent laser alerts, even while parked in my garage.

I'm thinking the auto wiper area that it was right next to was setting it off. Does anyone know if the auto wiper function actually turns off (meaning laser detection disabled) when the stalk is moved to off or if that just cancels the movement of the wipers when it senses rain on the windshield. I'm guessing the later based on what I'm seeing. I'll get a phone extension cord and test next week sometime when I can move the detector outside the cabin and directly in front of the sensor.

I've moved the detector a couple of inches to the left and it seems to have fixed it, but wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this.

I haven't had any issues with my mount, maybe put it lower a bit.

do you guys have them mounted above the rv mirror? Mine is above the mirror to the drivers side (same side as the rain detector section). Moving it 2" left seems to have fixed it. Previously is was within 1/2" of the rain sensor area.

Dont mount it too high or tinted area of the windshield will actually interfere w/ it. Also, if it's block by the roof in the back then your rear dectection becomes useless.

if your looking at your mirror from a horizontal angle. I have the radar like 2-3 inches below that. Its in the perfect spot. Very easy to see.

never had any problems up there. It's even better to have it higher.

I prefer to have it up higher to avoid wires dangling and to provide better coverage. That looks good. I may try it on the passengers side like you have it set up.

There's no possible way of having it higher and keeping it level. Where i have it, u can only see the part of the cord where it connects with the v1 and up. From there its spotless.

It looks good, and out of the way so it doesn't block your vision of the road, so this is good. But, now your rear detection has been drastically reduced.

^there is nothing metal that is blocking the laser where its mounted. The only thing that is reducing the radar where mounted is the glass (front/rear) if the window(s) are tinted. Nothing else will effect where its mounted. V1 actually suggests to mount up as high as you can

Not in my opinion, there's nothing blocking its view, and my rear detection is stronger than my front at any angle. Also I have a concealed display right next to the window wiper switch for easier view.

Also my rear glass is tinted, and doesn't effect anything as far as how it was in my untinted maxima

I meant I like having it where you and I have it mounted vs under the mirror.
