the rebate form from Sewell says you have to send version 8.1 back....I didn't order that release, so does that mean that only people that upgraded to 8.1 last year are eligible for the $50 rebate?

The way I read the offer was that the rebate was just for those with v 8. I gather it's a way to encourage people to buy ever release. I think they did the same thing last year.
