Default lowering question

Im curious how much it costs and whats involved in lowering the AWD GS300. Is it a hour or 2 job, or an all dayer? Prolly looking for the easiest method to drop it 2" or so.

If you install it figure ~ 6 hours for a DIY....Plan the whole day to be safe. If you pay a shop figure ~350$ or less for an AWD. I am guessing at that.

Springs really depends on the ride you want. I have Tanabe DF210 and they offer a nice ride and perfect drop (2"). Tanabe NF210 will give you a mild (1") drop and also looks good. I am taking off my springs in the next few weeks for coils so I can drop my car more. Its going to be interesting on the roads in Chicago but one way to find out

Search member oneflyguy (something like that) he is who we did the install for and you can see his car with a 1" drop and 20" rims.

A local member to me Gytis123 has an AWD with the same springs I have on my car. If you look in the Chicago section you can see how his car looks and also PM him to see what his opinion is on the ride and springs on AWD.

I really didnt want to mess with the ride of the car... normal tire size for the 20" wheel is 245/30, could I use 245/35? its 1" larger in diameter and would help that gap a little bit.

the shop putting in my coilovers is charging me $300 to install, which includes setup of the suspension to where i feel it is best. as to tires, i have 245/35 on a 8.5 up front and 275/30 on a 10.5 in the rear. there is a little rubbing, but we will heatgun the plastic and possibly roll the fenders while the wheels are off. $50 a corner for the roll. mechanic said no more than 3hrs for the install, but they do this type of work often. hope this gives you a good idea. i have an awd also.

it all depends on the type of suspension you want. me and a buddy did my coilovers in approx 3 hours from start to finish.

ryan, becareful rolling your fenders. i had the rear of mine rolled and it completely f'ed my paint. our cars are very hard to roll. someone else mentioned this when they had their ISX50 rolled.

yeah, i am concerned about that. the shop i am using has experience doing this though. i saw the damage to your car - i can't believe that they continued with the process on the paint started to come off. i hope they ended up paying for everything. i won't roll, or shave, unless i have to. thanks for the heads up.

staggered is fine as long as the diameter is the same - that's why the front profile is 35 and the rear is 30.
