Default Seat protection from child seats...

Baby on the way

What's the best product to buy to protect my seats from the child seat and spills?

Thanks!

Baby's 'r Us sells a semi-rigid protector for like $20... it's awesome. I have two. And as the kids get older and outgrow the seats/carriers, you can still use the protector as they are slightly cushioned to continue to protec the seats....

BTW: Congrats!

Congrats to you

I also have the eddie bauer one. Someone got it for me and so far its been great. Mine just turned one so we are in the forward facing seats but it helped not leave marks on the leather. I am more worried its going to leave indents in the seat but what can you do.

I have 2 prince lionheart ones and the kiddopotamus elite duomat one listed in the target link by Iocca.

The prince lionheart ones are definitely more rigid for the bottom piece, but don't go up high enough for our britax marathons. The kiddopotamus one goes up high enough but isn't as rigid as the lionheart. Both work fine for spills.

My wife and I have our 3rd kid on the way..

Congrats! The Prince Lionheart seat protector does a good job of trapping food and liquids that make it thru the baby seat. My son just turned two and both the GS and Pilot have survived quite a few accidental spills from juices and milk w/ the Lionheart in place.

No need to go out and buy a specialized product just to protect your seats. I used a simple bath towel. Black to match the color of the seats. Whenever it was dirty, tossed it in the laundry and it was good to go. If this is your first child, you will quickly learn that a lot of the products that are out there, you really do not need. Just ask your parents what they used for you when you were a rug rat. Keep it simple, save your money and apply it to your child's 529 college fund.

I thought of this too, but the rigidity of some of the OTS protectors means it will stay in place better, and as they grow out of the car seat, but not yet into "neat teenagers," they can sit on them to continue to protect the seats from the sand, dirt and other waste they inevidibly bring home from...well... everywhere. LOL

But, if the towel works fer ya - cool!
