3 piece wheel vs 1 piece, scarce chrome
Hey guys... I am new to the Lexus world, but I have always put wheels on my cars/suv's. Im wondering what is the benefit of the 3 piece wheel vs the 1 piece. Is it the looks? Are they lighter or stronger? Is it just a status thing?
Also, I see a lot of the higher end wheels come in silver/brushed/black and not as many in chrome. Why is that? I have the Matador red GS300 and I very much prefer the chrome look as oppsed to the silver look.
Thanks

3 piece wheels are typically built better and they usually have a better look to them. plus easily paintable.
chrome is dying fast, you wont find much in that finish anymore. closest you'll get is polished.

I agree with IXI187IXI, it is hard to find a big selection anymore for chrome wheels, on the other hand, at least you will be different as most GS owners are putting polished or colored wheels on these days. I got a black GS with chromes and couldn't be happier. 5 years ago, chrome flooded the market, now you'll be different, LOL. I know for a fact there are many quality brands out there that still make all chrome, Asanti, Lorenzo, Lexani, Dropstar, TSW, ect.... I prefer the shine of the chrome rather then the sportier look of alloys, colored, ect... Thats just me..

The benefits with 3 piece is that you get a full custom wheel that will not need spacers or center rings. Since they are custom made they can accommodate for wide body kits, BBK and any other customization you might want. You also get the luxury of replacing lips when you curb them and the finishing options are also limitless on a 3 piece wheel.
We have a new product line that is 3 piece and has a great price. We are selling the first 10 set for $4000.00 with tires for 20" For any Lexus. PM us for more info.

ISS forged, you guys need a better photographer. lol
OP - 3, 2, or 1 piece, its all the same at the end of the day. Certain things can be done when its 3 piece, such as a bigger lip, etc. Its a bling factor to me since most of the people who get 3 piece don't really race their GSs. Daily driving and looking pretty.

Multi-piece wheels also allow the manufacturers to offer and build an almost unlimited combination of diameters, widths, offsets, back pads, disc types, to fit almost any application, any fitment, any brake configuration, and any degree of agressiveness..(is this a word...)

I honestly like the work so we will have to disagree on that.
