Anyone know why after importing my phone book I still can't seem to dial from it on the nav screen or set any of my one touch buttons?

The list is all there but it's all dark, so nothing happens when I try to push on items. This is regardless of being parked, in park, parking brake on, or any other condition. I went through the manual and searched in here but can't seem to figure it out.

sounds like you downloaded your contacts to phone book 2 and your phone is registered as phone 1 (or vise versa).

I just got the car a few weeks ago and I did this a few days ago all at one sitting (transfering data and trying to dial from phonebook). It's registered as phonebook 1 (there's no other phonebook registered) and the correct phone is selected, as I can make and receive calls. Just can't select any of the dim address entries.

I know in my car I can only use the 17 programmed 1-touch buttons to dial when the car is moving. I cannot select names nor can I dial numbers if the car is in D or moving. If the car is moving or in D, those names and numbers are greyed out.

However, my crackberry has voice command so I can by pass all of the touch screen and it will dial the phone and then pop up on the handsfree.

Unfortunately, this is moving or not. I can't even set my one touch numbers because I can't select the numbers from the phone book. I can only set them based on the call log.

I'm completely puzzled. If I'm lucky, it's just something very simple I'm not understanding. I'm going to call a friend over with another GS to see how his works.

good luck, try resyncing your phonebook in, sit in the car in parked mode with e-brake on.... maybe resyncing will make everything work
