I just bought a CPO Lexus GS 430 (2006) and part of the agreement that I got in writing is that the Dealer would give me a set of all weather floor mats. Three weeks after my purchase, they finally told me to come in to pick them up. After waiting another 45 minutes in the dealership, the sales rep came and told me that they could no longer provide the all weather floor mats because of a huge safety recall.

I am aware of the floor mat issues with Toyota but I also read that there were no recalls yet. Does anyone know if there is really a cease in sales of these floor mats? If so, what should I do in terms of requesting compensation accordingly?

PS. This sucks because I have tan floors and they get hella dirty quick!

As far as I read, the potential recall doesn't even include the GS, so you should fight them on it.

yeah GS wasn't included in the recall....probably Toyota/Lexus/Scion being overly cautious. it's not rocket science to install these things correctly.

Yeah seriously. Thanks for the advice guys, I am going to "fight for the right to party" (with my floor mats that is).

Does anyone know if they offer Tan? I only see dark brown and black on their site which would look weird with my interior.

like others say, tell them to show you where it says gs is included...

i've never seen tan for the 3gs but i'm sure they have it. worse comes to worse, i didnt even bother i just went to weathertech.com and bout some on my own. i've had those weathertech in all my cars, its the greatest thing ever invested. espcially when you have tan int. good luck bro...

yeah, i have the black ones from lexus but am thinking of the tan weathertech ones - i have tan interior as well. the price is not too bad either.

you get used the black ones after a while...yeah I'd like to have matching floor mats, but I imagine they'll get just as dirty. next car I buy will have black interior...no exceptions.

lol. yeah, you def get used to it. it actually matches the dash, and being two toned anyway, it doesnt really bother me all too much. not a fan of black interior though, nor black cars. too hot in the summer, and the black always looks 'pleatherly' to me. lol. and yes, i test drove a 3gs with black interior, and grey interior. didnt like either, though the grey was def the worst. thought i was sitting in an impala.

and don't forget, 3GS has floor mat anchors (both the carpet and the all-weather mats have anchor holes). so really, it's not a safety issue at all.

how well do the weathertech ones fit for our model? They look pretty legit on the site and the tan looks like it would match. Can you get them cheaper anywhere else? Site has them for $100 .

Just make the dealership give it to you for free....because GS was not part of the recall.....

So are the stains left on the carpeted floor mats from melting ice, snow and grimey salty slush? For 4 months, I will put up with the ugly all-weather mats.
