Where to put iPhone integration box?
After removing the Nav unit and doing all the wiring I am now ready to close everything up in my 2006 GS430. However, after staring at the setup for a number of time I am not sure where to put the integration unit box. It's now very bulky but there does not seem to be any space under the center console. The wires are not long enough to reach under the driver or passenger seat.
Please help. Some mention to take the thing apart but I am relactant of doing so.
For those of you who did a similar install let me know what you did.
Thanks.

I stuffed my interface kit off to the right of the Nav unit and therefore did not have to remove the glovebox, etc. on the passenger side. There is just enough room.
Another note, depending on how often you will unplug your iPod (I do frequently 'cause I alternate between using my iPhone and a nano), you may not want to locate the cable in the glove box. I have mine popping out between the driver's seat and the center console for easy accessibility. There's enough space so that the iPod/iPhone just sits down there on top of a felt/foam spacer that "seals" the space between the seat and the center console. Obviously another location to have the cable go is to the center console.

I should've taken pics before I sealed it up but I stuck mine in front of the nav unit sort of under the ashtray to the left towards the driver's side. I guess it depends on which unit you have but I have an SLi2-Up and it's somewhat small in size to fit. It was a good recommendation from the place I purchased it from.

Yeah, I put it there. Don't know how I did it but I didn't have to struggle too much doing it. If you'd like, I can take it apart again and snap some shots. Just let me know! I put it there in case I need access to it in the future so I wouldn't have to take the whole nav unit out.

yes, that would be a much better location coz' if you ever have to reset the unit or so, all you need to do is to take off the shift plate. right now my setup is more painful since i have to take out the nav unit too.
that's how i do the 2is, it's right by the shifter so it's very easy to access.
if you have time to take it apart and take a pic, that'd be great. hopefully soon i can take apart mine again so i can figure out where on driver side i can stick that piece
