Default 5k 55watt Fogs Installed >PIX<

Well i ordered me a pair as well as 5k d4s bulbs for my lows. After the install of the light i absolutely love them. Why 5K and 55 watt you ask? Well i wanted to stay away from that bluish ricer look, its just not my taste anymore and they could not get any 3K's either. I went ahead and canceled my d4s order because i was please in how the lights match. This is what i have.

I know pictures are blurry(iphone)...but u get the idea...looks really nice

without fogs

with 55 watt 5k Fogs

I'm going to go ahead and disable DRL lights and put some 55 watt high beams because i do a lot of driving late at night in the boondocks.

Just though i would share for anyone's 411

careful with the 55w. you might melt the harness and its not cheap to replace.

rewire the fogs with a relay so you don't burn stuff.Thats what I would do.

WORST, it might just explode and destroy the whole headlight!!!
That is $1,300 a piece for the headlight and $370 a piece for the fog!!!

LOOKS GOOD, but BEST OF LUCK!!!

Stock is 35 watt. It's a plastic housing. 55watt will generate too much heat and melt it. My cousin did that and when he drove in rain, it sizzled from contact with water. Eventually, melted all around the housing. The relay maintained a constant charge throughout. Be careful man. I was going to do it and after I saw it, went with 35 watt.

been through rain and all...i'm using a relay kit so i'm not worried about wires. I'll keep an eye on the housing though. And like i said...I'm leaving the low beams alone, i was going to just change out to a 5k bulb. Thanx for the advise you guys!

Read wrong. Stock 9006 is around 50 watt or something like that. My cousin did it with a relay and it melted the plastic. Basically like throwing non-safe plastic into the dishwasher

35 watts seems too low. The 2GS is also 55 watts for both headlight & foglight 9906 bulbs.

i know it's typo but it should be 9006

if just looking at the 55w numbers, these aftermarket bulbs are ok. but the problem with some low quality aftermsarket bulbs is their quality consistency and some are so defective that they will cause overheat, etc...

Just an update on my fog lights...I have no problems and this was a great investment... Never melted any parts or anything....I have had a couple flash their high beams at me but I'm not worried about it....great for driving out in the country... Wish I had 3k though...

It seems like these headlight and fog light mods create more issues than its worth.
